I picked up Saiyuki Reload volume 8 yesterday. I find that I retain plot points a lot better reading a book with translations in the balloons instead of waiting for my dial-up to load scanned pages with translations on the side. ( spoilers )

Confirmation that a Bus Gamer anime is being created. With Minekura supervising, maybe we won't get wtfery like Saiyuki Gunlock's resolution of the Hazel storyline. (I haven't seen the ending episodes, just screen caps, but o.O)

Maybe the manga will start up again! Yeah, I'm pie in the sky, but let me dream.

I'm glad I had an opportunity to browse Wild Adapter volume 3 at the bookstore, because I would have been annoyed if I'd bought it. I've loved everything else Minekura has done but Kubota and Tokito have about two shades of characterization each in this volume and the plot did nothing for me. I'm still not feeling the Wild Adapter love after having read volume 2. Kazuya Minekura's storytelling and art seem far more dynamic in Saiyuki and Bus Gamers than here. So far we still get that Kubota is the wicked cool Sociopath Stu whom everyone wants, though the somewhat Goku-like brash yet mostly sweet Tokito is the chink in his armor of ( Read more... )
